The Praise the Lord for His goodness provided through Godly Children!The grades 4 and 5 Sunday school class of Springvale Baptist Church, Stouffeville, Ontario, had been running a contest all year in their Sunday School class, to raise money for the orphanges. The children that could answer questions related to the church service received cash for every correct answer that went toward the fund raiser. One sponsor multiplied the amount raised by the kids and the money will be used for recreational equipment.

Second Orphanage
Freedom House is please to announce the opening of our second home, located in Jacmel Haiti.
Under the direction of Pastor Comper Abraham we have opened a home that will house 19 orphaned and abandoned girls.
The home opened On December 20, 2008 with 3 young girls and added 3 more girls by Dec 31, 2008.
We give praise and thanks to God for his provision and miracles making it possible to open this new Children’s home.
We praise God for Pastor Abraham, his wife and his family for their commitment to these lovely children.
Please pray for Pastor Abraham and his family as they care for and raise and nurture these precious children. We have land in Jacmel adjacent to the Grace church and school which we plan to build our new home. When complete this home will house 60 children plus staff. Fund raising continues to secure the necessary funds to build the home. Construction began in early June with a goal to complete the home by the end of the year. Second Floor Update
The floor shell is now up, the pasting for the interior and exterior of the walls is complete. Floor tiles are being installed and the plumbing and wiring are almost complete.
We still require $20,000 US in order to complete the addition and bring in more children. This includes furnishings.

Second floor addition
We also praise God for the generous donations of our partners and friends from Carlisle Brethren in Christ Church in Carlisle PA and DGN Marketing in Mississauga Ont.
Fund raising efforts from these groups raised enough money to fund the construction of the 2nd floor exterior walls and roof. God willing the construction will begin on July 1-08.
Fund raising efforts will continue in Carlisle PA as the group contacts local businesses for donations of articles required to complete the interior of the 2nd floor addition.
Everything from electrical wire, bathroom plumbing fixtures, ceiling fans/lights, paint and furniture will be collected and shipped by container from PA to Haiti. The shipment will also include a large swing outdoor play structure ready to assemble for the children. When the container arrives at the home in Haiti we will have work crews ready to complete the interior of the addition. |

Freedom House news
Solar project
The electrical power needs for Freedom House Bethesda have been met due to generous donations and fund raising efforts of many friends. $6,200 was raised to purchase and install 8 solar panels. The solar system provides the power required to run the refrigerator, freezer, lights, ceiling fans and water pump. We praise God for our friends that contributed to this important project. The house parents and children are very happy to finally have reliable power. As we complete the 2nd floor we will need to add 4 more solar panels to the system. |
