Freedom House announces the opening of our 3rd Orphanage
On Dec 31 the girls from the FH Grace home moved from the flat to the brand home. On January 8, 2011 the first 2 boys were welcomed to the new FH Grace home for boys. As of Jan 19, there are 5 boys in the new home.
Home and Construction Update
Construction of the second floor at the Freedom House Bethesda Home in Port-au-Prince is in the final stages. Just a few finishing touches such as screens and lights need to be added. There are now 13 girls in the FH Bethesda Home, We plan to add 11 more girls this spring.
Major construction of the new Grace home in Jacmel is now complete, Kitchen cabinets and storage shelving will be completed in February.
Now that major work on both homes is completed we are working on acquiring beds and furniture so that we can be ready to welcome more orphaned children. Fundraising for the furniture project continues.
We are in the process of accepting quake orphans now. Five have arrived and more are on the way. Construction continues at both homes with a goal to add 30 more quake orphans between now and the end of the year.
NEEDS
-Furnishings for the 2nd floor addition of the Bethesda home; 15 beds, linens, drapery, dressers.
-Additional solar panels to ensure there is enough power to light the new 2nd floor..
-Furnishings for the Grace boys' and girls' home in Jacmel; all home items needed.
-Sponsors for the 7 new children and the 35 children we plan to welcome this winter and spring.
-Drilled well and water purification units for both girls' homes.
Pray for the safety of the orphanages and the staff. Pray for the Lord's hand over everyone there. Pray that the funds will come in to supply the needs for both homes
