Donations Are Still Critical
Saturday, February 13th Dave and Sonya are home from Haiti and thank all who prayed for us, our kids and staff at both orphanages.We are happy to report that we had a very successful trip and thank God for his guidance, protection and miracle. All the children and staff at both Freedom House homes are safe and healthy!! Miracously the homes were not damaged. 1 wall at the Bethesda home fell over (we are thankful that none of the children or staff were near the wall when it fell)The other 3 walls at Bethesda did not fall but do have cracks and damage. While we were there we hired some teenagers to clean up the debris from the fallen wall and hired a contractor to rebuild the wall...very important for the security of the home.The children and staff at both homes are still sleeping outside as they fear sleeping inside as do many throughout Haiti.
Bethesda home needs - We plan to reinforce the home with steel to add extra strength in the event of another quake or after shock.
- Completion of the 2nd floor so we can add 20 more children to this home.
- Repair the 3 walls that sustained structure cracks.
- Add more solar pannels to ensure there is enough power to light ther 2nd floor addition.
- Drill a well and add a water purification unit
Grace needs - We have land and plan to build a new home that will house 60 children.
